Airport Announces New PGD Air Center General Manager
PUNTA GORDA, FL (March 13, 2025) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority (CCAA) announces that Eric Berg has joined PGD as its new FBO General Manager. Eric will work under Chief Operating Officer (COO) Raymond Laroche, A.A.E. and will be responsible for managing and overseeing daily operations at the PGD Air Center. His role includes supporting flight operations, and ensuring a seamless experience for the general aviation community and airport partners.
With over 18 years of experience in FBO and airport management, Eric brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our team. Before joining us, Eric served as the Executive Director of Operations at Skyport Holdings LLC, where he oversaw operations at five locations driving operational success and strategic growth. He also served as the General Manager at Skyport Aviation (KVDF) and Avflight Akron-Canton Corporation (KCAK), where he played a pivotal role in improving financial performance, customer relations, and operational standards.
The FBO General Manager manages the 13,500 square-foot facility that is the focal point of the airport’s aviation expansion area, referred to as the PGD AviEx. The Air Center houses FBO operations, meeting and event space, leasable office suites, pilot lounge and aircraft parking on a 510,000-square-foot ramp. Plans for a restaurant and bar space are also underway at the PGD Air Center.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics (Aviation Management) from Kent State University, with a minor in Information Technology. He is also a Private Pilot, giving him firsthand experience and passion for aviation. Throughout his career, Eric has led numerous successful initiatives, including:
- Establishing an Allegiant Airlines station that became the #1 multi-city station within a year.
- Successfully transitioning FBOs from private to corporate branding.
- Mentoring teams to uphold rigorous safety standards like NFPA 407 and ATA 103.
- Negotiating critical lease agreements.
Eric is an active member of the Aviation Security International Network, AAAE (American Association of Airport Executives), AOPA (Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association), Private Aviation Professionals, and Private Pilot Professionals, further demonstrating his commitment to the industry.
